NEVER AGAIN

TF1621 Transparent.png

On January 6th, 2021, violent extremists stormed the United States Capitol in an overt attack on the 117th United States Congress.  Part of wider protests, it was led by extremist organizations and carried out by a mob of supporters of Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, in a failed attempt to overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election. The riot led to the evacuation and lockdown of the Capitol, and five deaths.

Task Force 1.6.21

Established on January 9th, 2021, Task Force 1.6.21 (TF1621) was created within days of the insurrection to support the widespread investigation into the attack on the Capitol and planned acts of follow-on violence by extremists.  TF1621 is a civilian run intelligence organization composed of prior service government and military law enforcement and intelligence personnel.  See About to learn more.

The FBI is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individuals who participated in the occupation of the US Capitol Building on 01.06.21;  see a full list of photographs of individuals yet to be identified.

In support of TF1621's MISSION we are actively supporting the FBI's efforts to identify individuals and groups that led and participated in the occupation of the Capitol, as well as those that may have materially  supported those efforts.

Additionally, TF1621 acknowledges that the events that occurred on January 6th, 2021 did not manifest within a vacuum, rather they were the predictable result of a series of events and catalysts that occurred over months and years leading up to the occupation of the Capitol.  Therefore, the scope of our investigations extends to individuals that may have been complicit in directly or indirectly supporting acts of violence against members of Congress and the Executive Branch, both private and public persons that openly endorsed such violence, and those that knowingly, through indifference or intent, provided resources and capabilities that supported recruitment by violent extremists.
